The Sportheldenbuurt is a public sports park on Zeeburgereiland in the middle of a new housing estate in Amsterdam.
The design of the sports park is partly based on a needs analysis by the municipality, which showed a shortage of sports facilities in Amsterdam. Therefore, the choice was made to make the sports park publicly accessible for residents, visitors and schoolchildren. This fits in with a modern form of sporting experience in the densely populated city. The design provides space for korfball, hockey, basketball, batting cages, athletics and football. Around the sports park there will be a trim trail with trim equipment.
For the sports park, we were asked to create two 3×3 basketball courts and supplied various furnishing materials. For an impression of this beautiful project see the video above.
