Sustainability as a core value
A crucial aspect of the sports club of the future is sustainability. It is the key to long-term success. We want sports facilities that not only perform optimally, but also have minimal impact on the environment. Consider energy-efficient LED lighting, solar power and innovative waste management and water conservation systems. Fortunately, what is also becoming important again is investing in high-quality products with a longer lifespan, leaving us with less harmful and higher-quality waste.
Circular as a starting point for investments
In renewal, renovations and redesign of accommodations, circularity becomes an important starting point for investments. Building and usage materials from recycled raw materials. Think of GreenMatter: picnic tables, benches and (bleacher) chairs, embankment and edge boards, but also modular sports floors for public spaces or a blowing hall and recycled (grass) tiles for terraces, walkways and parking spaces. We require producers to also think about a product’s end-of-life destination.
Interactive and inclusive
In the sports club of the future, interaction is key. We expect a dynamic environment where members are encouraged to participate, learn and grow. This means incorporating innovative training methods, such as smart training methods, that provide a personalized and engaging athlete experience. Based on data, scores and progression are made visible and apps monitor user frequency. Clubs also strive to provide a variety of sports facilities for inclusivity, making every person, regardless of age, background or skill level, feel welcome.
Partly self-sufficient accommodations
In the surroundings of the accommodations, conscious choices are made for planting that can contribute to the hospitality and healthy nutritional needs of athletes; think fruit trees and flower boxes (from recycled raw materials) with small fruits, herbs and vegetables. Planting can also contribute to biodiversity, cooling terraces and dampening noise from nuisance.
Combining facilities for maximum impact
Another characteristic of the sports club of the future is the smart combination of facilities for both organized and unorganized sports. The traditional sports offer is enriched with, for example, a W&H (Winning & Happiness) court. A complete exercise concept consisting of multifunctional modular floors that can be equipped with different furnishing materials. Thus, a space can fulfill different needs, from sports training to gym classes and other educational sports programs. Through flexible use of recreational space, resources can be used more efficiently and offer more value. Not only to existing members, but also to a broader audience through differentiated memberships or rentals. Then, for example, you might see parents who come to cheer on their child first utilize a SportBox at the club for their own exercise needs. In addition to rental revenue, a solid court will also provide additional bar revenue. Read more about this via the articles under “Also interesting” at the bottom of this blog.
Meeting place for everyone
Last but not least, the sports club of the future remains a meeting place for everyone. This is where people come together, build relationships and strengthen ties within the community. By organizing events, programs and initiatives that increase community involvement, we continue to strengthen the social aspect of sports and create valuable memories for young and old. Ultimately, the same applies here: Improving is Winning.
