Why an outdoor table tennis table?
What is the reason that you see table tennis tables in so many public places, sports parks, playgrounds and school playgrounds? Quality table tennis tables are vandal-proof, weatherproof and therefore low-maintenance. In addition, it is a sport that anyone can learn and that is not age-related at all. The outdoor table tennis tables were specially developed for outdoor use. Unlike indoor table tennis tables, outdoor table tennis tables are resistant to moisture. This is due to the fact that the playing surface is made of PVC. This makes the table tennis table moisture proof and rain resistant. The coating of the playing surface also ensures that the sunlight is reflected by the playing surface. In short, you can continue playing in all types of weather.
Table tennis rules
The table tennis sport is based on eleven basic rules, namely:
- A game finishes when one player reaches eleven points.
- A match is played according to the ‘best of five’ method: the player who wins three games first has won.
- To win a game, there must be a minimum difference of two points.
- Service changes every two times.
- From 10-10 onwards serve alternates, one serve per person at a time.
- When serving you must throw the ball about 16 centimetres straight up before hitting it.
- A toss determines who will start the game with the service.
- When serving you must have the ball on a flat hand when you throw it up.
- Your hand with the ball must not be under the table at the start of the toss.
- Your opponent must be able to see the ball when serving; you may not shield it with a hand, head, shoulder or abdomen.
- You are obliged to play with a bat with a red rubber on one side and a black one on the other side.
